My favourite game ever is Persona 5, it came at the perfect time and I empathised A LOT (maybe too much :P) with the characters, and that felt amazing. I played all day and had so much fun. It was around 2020/2021. Finishing that game tore me to pieces and to this day it's still one of my core memories. I'll forever love it and love my PS3 (greatest console EVER!) I love a plethora of other games and here are my favourites:
I know, I know, it's kinda usual to love this game, but what can you do. It's a beautifully written, composed, programmed and designed game (I'M INCLUDING THE SECOND ONE). Both games are really deep and every character is really believable. They're not very long games, and even if you may think the second one is a little slow paced, it's just to build up everything for the ending, and I'm so thankful they did that :D
Yeah it may sound like a joke but I can't understate how much this game shapes my humour and how much I love every single aspect of it. Why can't it be one of my all time favs??
These two are visual novels, they're extremely short and dirt cheap. I'd really suggest playing them (the first one lasts like 30 minutes!). I love the ambience, the style, the actual story and the lore that is built up with the second one. And the visuals are top notch. I bought off etsy the shirt that Milk-chan (she doesn't have a name, this is how the fandom refer to her) has :D
Another classic. Another GREAT classic, it's sooo gooddddd, I don't know what there is to say about the game that has not already been said. So i'll talk about the first one. It's odd and kinda frustrating, but underneath there is a great RPG! If you loved the third you should try the first two, and the first actually becomes frustrating only in a single part of the game where there is a difficulty spike that i didn't understand. The combat system is not very well made, and when enemies are weak that is not a problem, it can even be fun, but when the games tries to be difficult it really fails. >:( Also, great OSTs all around :D
:3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 This is truly the 3D platformer ever It has everything I want!! A cute style, cute characters, great soundtrack, great movement, great levels, mod support, great small community, and fun humor.
I struggle to explain starting from zero why this game is great, so just search up people playing it. I suggest TWD98, Nmeade, Froz3n, EmilP, ZillaMK6.
My experience with this game has been weird. I played this twice in a row in two days doing a neutral and then a pacifist route (NOT THE COMPLETE ONE, I DIDN'T GO ON THE DATE WITH UNDYNE SO NO TRUE ENDING). It didn't fully click so I liked it but not that much. Years later I decided to play it again, this time with another person (that already knew the game and wanted to revisit it) and I ADORED IT, I played every route, visited I think almost every place there is and I really fell in love with the characters. It has it all: humor, indie, being cheap, style, music, innovation, genius, choices - subtle ones too -, and a partially great community. What's not to love about it :)
I'm currently playing this game and trying to understand everything that's going on with the couple, and damn this is interesting. It's freeware so nothing stops you to try it, and I'm so sad there is nothing else like it. It has an unsettling but charateristic artstyle that makes it unique, unexpected great soundtrack, IT'S FROM 2005 AND IT'S SOOOO DEEP, if only they'd make something like that today... (they were doing a sequel but they momentarily stopped. I can't not think that modern AI has something to do with it). If you want to make a game like that today you have to account for a lot of stuff, mainly the fact that AI chatbots now exist, so if you want to build something you could use them, but probably sacrificing some of the game direcion and I really think (A LOT) that for a game like this it should be avoided. Façade is not a chatbot, it's a novel where you influence what a couple does, and it needs to be structured really well. Also I think that a game like this would get exponentially complex for everything you want to add to it... So it's really complicated. Remember that you even have to find a way to make the player figure out what's there to discover, and what to ask them. Yes they did all this in 2005. It's not perfect but why would we need perfection. It's so fascinating.
This game is beautiful :D. I'd like to hug everyone AND everything. I heard this mainly as an horror game, and yes of course it is, but it's great in every aspect, and the horror is just part of it. Heck, more than horror that is just harsh reality in the minds of some kids.
OK NOW YOU SHOULD PLAY THIS, THIS IS PHENOMENAL, THIS IS GREAT, THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER MADE, THIS IS SHORT, THIS IS FREE, I've never seen before something breaking the 4th wall this well. Nothing feels forced, everything is part of the narrative. It's truly beautiful to find pearls like these. You remember what's great about videogames. Only downside because of the sheer nature of the game you have to play this on Windows :((((, but it's worth it. You probably could run this on a virtual machine but idk I don't have deep knowledge of those
